Consultant IT

Microsoft 365, identity, network, suppliers. A mandate for companies without a full-time CIO.

An IT consultant for companies with no full-time CIO, or with one buried in run. Microsoft 365, identity, network, suppliers, IT budget. Brussels. French, Dutch and English.

The mandate

What we take on

[ 01 ]

Run and priorities

Tickets piling up, overlapping suppliers, no owner. We put an order back: who does what, on which budget, over 90 days.

[ 02 ]

Daily stack

Microsoft 365, Entra ID, endpoints, backup, network. Not a rebuild for its own sake. The workstreams that cut risk and wasted time.

[ 03 ]

Suppliers

We steer your MSP or integrator, or we deliver. One counterpart, closed lots, a done criterion.

[ 04 ]

What follows

IT strategy, infrastructure, security, licences. The same firm. See also digitalisation consulting if the issue is process, not the machine.

Who it is for

Mid-market, offices, non-profits, publishers

[ 01 ]

Not a helpdesk

We do not replace ticket-based managed IT. We scope, we decide, we deliver lots. Day-to-day run stays with you or your MSP.

[ 02 ]

Belgium

Office at Place Sainte-Gudule 14, 1000 Brussels. On-site or remote. A contract, not an anonymous platform.

The Consultant IT mandate covers run, tool choices and supplier steering. We write who does what, on which budget, and we deliver closed lots. This is not ticket helpdesk, and not open-ended on-site staffing.

How it runs

A typical mandate

[ 01 ]

Week 1

Scoping: stack, suppliers, repeat incidents, budget, access. A one-page note: what is in, what stays out.

[ 02 ]

Lot 1

A short, visible workstream: Microsoft 365 hardening, tested backup, admin rights, or a supplier reset. Done criteria written before we start.

[ 03 ]

Next

Further lots only if the first one holds. Price and timetable each time. You can stop after lot 1.

[ 04 ]

Reporting

Monthly: incidents, debt, budget, decisions due. Short enough for a board, precise enough for IT.

Deliverables

What you leave with

[ 01 ]

Map

Tools, contracts, privileged accounts, backups, dependencies. A file a successor can open.

[ 02 ]

90-day plan

Three to five workstreams, owner, cost, done criteria. Nothing else on the list until those are closed.

[ 03 ]

Executed lots

Minutes, returned access, tests (backup, MFA, restore). Not a slide with no proof.

[ 04 ]

Decisions

Make or buy, keep or change the MSP, cloud or not. A dated recommendation, not an endless debate.

Typical cases

When to call a Consultant IT

[ 01 ]

Mid-market, no CIO

A partner runs IT in the evening. Incidents, licences, a fuzzy supplier. We take scoping and lots. Ticket run stays with the MSP.

[ 02 ]

Too many suppliers

Managed IT, integrator, a freelancer, nobody owns it. We put a RACI and a single budget back.

[ 03 ]

After an incident

Compromised account, near-miss ransomware, backup that would not restore. Emergency lot, then a 90-day plan.

[ 04 ]

Growth

A new site, 40 extra seats, a merger. The current setup will not hold. Minimal architecture, then delivery.

FAQ

Common questions

[ 01 ]

Do you replace our MSP?

No. We scope and we deliver lots. Ticket run stays with you or your MSP. If the MSP has to go, that is a written decision, not a drift.

[ 02 ]

Brussels only?

The office is Place Sainte-Gudule 14. Work is on-site in Belgium or remote. French, Dutch, English.

[ 03 ]

Link to cybersecurity?

Yes. Backup, identity, firewall and NIS 2 sit in the same firm. Not a second supplier to brief from zero.

[ 04 ]

How do you bill?

Closed lots: price, timetable, done criteria. No open-ended time and materials. The first lot is short, to check that it holds.
